Twin sisters Urja and UshmaVed of Juhu, Mumbai have secured an overall 98% percent marks at the recently concluded ICSE Xth Standard board exams. What makes this interesting is that the sisters secured full 100 marks in the very same subjects to achieve an overall high score. Urja and Ushma have credited the success to their parents and their teachers from the JamnabaiNarsee School of Juhu, Mumbai.

Now if you may have spent some time with a set of twins you may understand how fascinating it is to simply be around two of a similar kind (well, if they’re identical). But then there are twins like Urja and Ushma who take the level of fascination even furtherby being born on the 29^th of February leap year of 2004!

Apart from academics the twins have excelled at extracurriculars too. “I have been a lot into sports all through my school years. I have been playing football and have even captained my school football team. The only way I could score 100/100 in four subjects is because I could balance my studies and extracurriculars quite well. I have spent days training for my football matches and then I would come back home, rest for a bit and get back to studies. There have also been times when my match schedules have clashed with my preliminary exams, and i would carry my books with me to the matches then! Dance has been another passion I have invested my time in”, said Urja gleamingly.

Ushma managed to score high by being quite sincere with her studies all through. “I would come back home and revise each and everything that was taught in schoolon a daily basis. This kept me regular and on-track with my studies. I also played football for my school just like my sister. Both of us have scored full marks in English Literature, History & Civics, Geography Biology and Physical Education”, said a proud Ushma.

Out of school now and preparing for college, Urja wishes to pursue Commerce studies and acquire her MBA degree. On the other hand,Ushma would like to study Science as she aspires to become a Doctor! We met up with Dr. Meghna Ved, the mother of the twins. “My girls have always led from the front whether it has been academics or sports. They are leap year twins and I feel they’re very special. They deserve the success and accolades for being so hardworking and passionate with whatever they do. I am proud of my girls”, said the beaming mother!
